NA2 FORM - A DETAILED GUIDE TO HELP FOREIGNERS APPLY FOR A VIETNAM VISA
NA2 form is an important document for organizations operating in Vietnam that must declare when sponsoring for a foreigner to enter Vietnam for work or investing purposes. Understanding and using the form correctly would help quicken your visa application.

1. WHAT IS VIETNAM NA2 FORM
NA2 form (with barcode) is a form that organizations operating in Vietnam need to fill out and submit to the Immigration Department to process and allow foreigners entry into Vietnam.
NA2 form is issued alongside Circular No. 04/2015/TT-BCA, regulation about the sponsor form for foreigners to gain entry into Vietnam. This document ensures foreigners enter Vietnam with a clear purpose and under the sponsor of an organization with legal responsibilities.
2. VIETNAM NA2 FORM INTENDED USERS
NA2 form is used by organizations, companies, enterprises operating in Vietnam for sponsoring foreigners.
Note: NA2 form isn’t used for foreigners visiting their relatives. In this situation you need to use form NA3.
3. GUIDE TO FILL OUT YOUR VIETNAM NA2 FORM ONLINE
To fill out your NA2 form online, you need to log in to the Online information portal on Vietnam immigration and follow the below instructions.
3.1. With organizations without an account
Access the following link for organizations without an account to begin filling out information.
Step 1: Sponsor information
Write down in full all required information:
- Name of organization: Full and accurate name
- Type of organization: Choose one of the following (government department, Vietnamese company, company with foreign investment, investor, representative office…)
- Phone number: The sponsor’s phone number, this should be the phone number of someone who is knowledgeable about visas and applying for a visa to provide additional information when contacted by government officials.
- Email: The sponsor’s email address.
- Address: The sponsor’s office, headquarter address (up to the district level) For example: “No 167, Hai Ba Trung, 3rd District.
- Province/City: Choose the corresponding province/city of the sponsor’s office, headquarter location. For example: “Ho Chi Minh city”
Step 2: NA2 form required information
NA2 form required the following:
- Form number: You can fill out any number you want.
- Date of form: It would automatically fill the current date.
- Operational plan: State the purpose of entry and the name of the province/city they will stay in. For example: “ Working in Ho Chi Minh city”.
- Estimate temporary residence: The address foreigners will stay after entering Vietnam (up to district level).
- Province/City: Choose the province/city you will stay in after entering Vietnam.
- Receiving and managing unit: This field will be automatically updated with the name of the sponsoring unit.
- Receive paper response: If you want a document sent to the sponsor choose “yes”, if not choose “no”.
- Reason to receive the visa at the border gate: If you want to receive your visa at the border please state why, if you don’t then please leave this field empty.
Step 3: Information about the sponsored
After filling out the information about the sponsor, click the “add guess” button and a small window will pop out for you to fill out information about the guaranteed guess.
Here please fill out fully and correctly the following information:
- Personal information: Fields marked with (*) are mandatory and must be filled out. Date of birth must follow the following format Date/Month/Year.
- Information about Vietnam visa:
- Passport value: Choose “single entry” if you own a single entry visa and choose “multiple entry” if you own a multi entry visa. The fees required are different between 2 types.
- Where to receive your visa: This field includes a list of most border gates, international airports, international ports, Vietnam Embassy/Consulate abroad.
- Date of recommendation: The date of entry into Vietnam.
- Due date: Visa expiration date according to regulations.
- Entry purpose: Choose from a list given.
Step 4: Confirm your information and print out the document
The last step, the sponsoring unit clicks on “i guarantee everything i declare above are truthfully”. Input the captcha and print the document out.
3.2. With organization with an account
NA2 form for an organization with an account is very simple. The mentioned organization log in to their account and begin the application process: Link for organization with an account.
Log into their account by inserting their email address and the password. After that click “sign in”.
Afterwards begin the information submission process for the guaranteed guess, confirm your information and print the document out according to steps 3 and 4, of section 3.1 above.
4. HOW TO CHECK THE STATUS OF YOUR VIETNAM VISA?
To look up your process please log into the Search Record on the Information Portal of Vietnam Immigration.
Then input the required information, which includes:
- NA2 form number: This is on the upper left corner of NA2 form, below the barcode.
- Phone number: Input the phone number that matches the one on the NA2 form.
- Confirmation code: Input the 4 digits code correctly.
- Finally click on “Search” to look up the current process of your application. Then you will receive either “Under review” or “Result available”.
5. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHEN FILLING OUT THE FORM?
You need to pay attention to the following:
- Form NA2 is only available online, handwritten form is unusable.
- Online NA2 form must have a barcode, must be printed out with all other documents.
- When filling out the NA2 form, the sponsor organization must fill out all information truthfully and accurately.
- You can use the barcode on form NA 2 to look up the current status of your application online.
- The sponsor can change the online profile as long as they have not submitted the documents.
